What would you recommend to anglers fishing in St. Augustine, Florida for the first time?

Take some nausea meds the night before and the morning of your trip. (Had a couple get sea sick). Bring your muscles and a strong back to reel these fish in. They all fight like crazy!

Remember it’s fishing not catching. Some days are slow, but these guys make it a good time either way. But we caught several!!!!

It's hot, pack sunscreen. Our captain had plenty of water, but I would recommend packing some light snacks/sandwiches for longer trips (5 hours or more).

Inshore is the better option for inexperienced anglers and those who may lack the strength for deep sea catches.

Water was choppy but the captain and crew made it as comfortable as possible and still got us on the water for the chance to get fish

Check the weather and make sure everyone in your group is up for the sea conditions and plan to get some spray if you go offshore. Otherwise, stay inshore.

Book it!! You'll have guaranteed fun. We booked 4 hour's. But decided to add 2 hour's because we were having to much fun.

We've rented two charter boats each time we visited and had a great time- everyone caught multiple fish! The captains always go out of their way to make sure everyone has a good time

If there’s a full moon nearing and if the water is dirty don’t fish. They king mackerel can’t see your live bait. Other than that great overall experience really look forward to the next trip.

Get with Captain James! Fishing from shore was tough. Wish we would of booked earlier in the week so we could of taken another trip!

This was a great trip for us being out on the sea in a boat to fish. We hope to visit again and will definitely call Dave to take us back out.
