What would you recommend to anglers fishing in St. Augustine, Florida for the first time?

Dress light, very warm, bring food, beer and have a great time. Can’t always catch fish so be prepared to just take a boat ride.

Captain Chuck Joe of Shark Infested Charters is a top notch professional if you don't go with him you are missing out.

Talk to the local guys the bait shack is a great place to find well known and experienced anglers.

We fished in late April and it was wonderful. The sun was bright, but not too hot, with a light breeze. We saw lots of seaside and caught many different fish.

Sunscreen we forgot to put it on and a zip up sweatshirt until it warms up, I forgot mine when we hurried out the door to fish at 7am

Anthony put us on fish even in tough conditions. Winds were tough in March, but plenty of fish to be had. Everyone had a blast and we caught several fish.

This was a great family adventure and the town of St Augustine was so much fun to explore after our fishing trip.

We were nervous because it was a cold day. But it turned out to be great regardless and caught fish!

It was a little windy and cooler than we expected for February but we are from Missouri so we wanted to be here in February!

Make sure you are very well hydrated before you get on the boat! ⛵ It can get very hot very quickly, especially if you are not from the south. Other than that, we had a fantastic time

My advice is to be clear with Captain on what you are looking for. For example, do you want volume of fish or size?

Sounded like more fish caught in June and July than August. Still a great time but might be a bit longer between bites.

If you are there in August, book morning trip to allow you most water time without the heavy heat of the day.

Captain Russom was a great guide and passionate about his tours. He knows how to maneuver on the water and where the best spots to fish are!

Be mindful of the weather patterns. Fishing success is a lot of time dependent on weather, tide, etc. Don't blame a captain if fish simply aren't biting.

Find a honest boat captain that will tell you exactly if the fish are biting clay was very professional and told us everything that we needed to know before we got on the boat

I think the rain the previous day had something to do with the reason why we didn’t catch as many as we had hoped for.

Bring some sunscreen and don't expect 4 hours Dr doc. You will probably get five or six hours poll time

The waterways were not busy! Compared to Miami, Saint Augustine is tranquil. The marina was quiet and ordered! Beautiful experience! Would like to keep it a secret!!! Lol!

Great trip with Captain Chris, put us on plenty of different species of Florida fish to include Cobia, Kingfish, Amberjack, Bonita, and Barracuda. Highly recommend booking a trip.

In this heat, the fish aren’t going to bite as well. You will need a good captain to help find them.

Take some nausea meds the night before and the morning of your trip. (Had a couple get sea sick). Bring your muscles and a strong back to reel these fish in. They all fight like crazy!

Remember it’s fishing not catching. Some days are slow, but these guys make it a good time either way. But we caught several!!!!
