What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Lakeside Marblehead, Ohio for the first time?

Weather is unpredictable in April. Be prepared for chilly and wet conditions, and likely rough waters.

Weather and wind will disperse fish and make them more difficult to catch. If a client can wait 2-3 days of nice weather after a heavy wind and/or storm, the fishing will likely be better.

There are a lot of places to eat around where you're fishing. The captain is very experienced in those the area since he's lived there his whole life pretty much.

Yes recommend. Catching fish is not always easy. Capt Steve obviously knows Lake Erie. Put us on spots and we caught fish. Capt Steve is very personable and friendly. We wish him the best

August fishing can't be expected to be consistently excellent. We were very fortunate that it was very good.

Many charters expect you to take fish to local businesses to be cleaned, or do yourself. However there is a really nice cleaning station at mazurik fishing access.

Bring Dramamine for potential sea sickness. The earlier you go the better the bite likely will be.

Caught 6 keeper walleye in just a couple of hours trolling. Caught a variety of other fish (perch, catfish, sheephead). The rods very were active.

We had 2 first time Lake Erie fishermen, who had a great trip. This crew will keep you at ease and on fish!

Walleye are tough to catch in August and September due to the water temps. May, June, July they were limiting out.

I think we lucked out catching a good amount during the warm weather. Sounds like it's more consistent when weather is a little cooler.

Captain Lloyd is a great guy! He will get you to the fish. He doesn’t just sit in one spot all day.

Always be prepared for inclement weather. Bring your rain gear even if it is sunny. The weather changes quickly and it will not be fun if you are wet and cold.

Be prepared to put up with the weather. Make sure you bring along warm clothes no matter what. You can always take things off.

Be open minded to a variety of weather conditions and be prepared for any. If your not sure of how you will handle a boat in rougher water - take your Dramamine!!!

Research your guide if it’s your first test me. We used planer boards with our guide and repeated that on our own boat. Took us a bit longer, but had a great time fishing.

Don't bring too young of children it may be a rough trip but for the adult a very good fishing experience!

Yes but pay attention to the upcoming weather and be flexible. Even though we were not able to it would have been easier on all of us., Mr. Hughes and Carol were great.

We had a lot of storms popping up and high winds off an on all day but still caught a few large catfishes and walleye. Will be coming back earlier in the season next year.

The weather is unpredictable. Our day of perch fishing was great. But we had a second trip for walleye booked that got canceled because of thunderstorms.

Pay a little money to get the experience you want. Cheaper definitely doesn’t mean better in this case.

Very clean town. Many places to eat and enjoy the beauty of Lake Erie on the Ohio side.
