What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Texas City, Texas for the first time?

I booked two fishing adventures for this trip to Galveston. The first one was directly out of Galveston, so the Texas City fishing experience was a cool contrast. I really enjoyed the scenery, and the Top Water Grill was pretty awesome as well.

As with all types of fishing, patients, persistence and observance are key ! But, the Texas City waterways never disappoint! There's something special waiting for you on the other end of that popping cork !

Just go out there and enjoy the trip and experience. The view is amazing and the captain was full of knowledge. Make sure you have some extra layers just in case you do the afternoon trip, it might get a little cold towards the end as the sun sets earlier in the year. But mostly enjoy the trip.

Don’t hesitate it was worth it captain Mike definitely knows his stuff on the water highly recommend using him definitely would dress warm. I was remember you can take clothes off you can’t put clothes on if you don’t have them it was chilly. That was one thing I wish my son would have done was dress a little warmer lol other than that great time great memories

Captain Cody Phillips had us using cork bobbers and it was a lot of fun. We have never used them before and he sailed us in the right direction. Everyone on the boat was catching fish and having an awesome time. We all caught at least one fish to keep and needless to say we had an amazing dinner!

1st time fishing outta Texas City and I loved it. The launch there is super close to the fishing grounds and better yet, you don't have to drive all the way into Galveston. Gonna do a lot more outta Texas City for sure.

Texas hot summers aren't always the best time to fish the bay waters. Spring or fall trips will likely be more productive. Although the catching might not be the best in August, the fishing is always awesome!

The captain will help you out from baiting your hook and casting out. There are all tires of fish that the captain will put you on.

Probably wait to go until after April for more consistent catching and more fish to keep per the captains recommendation

I would recommend a horror half day to do a half day Charter with someone like fishing hookers it was a very good day he was the man knows

If it’s your first time to be fishing in Texas or Texas city highly recommend taking a morning trip so the heat isn’t so bad.

It is hot on the water, bring lots to drink - water, soda and gaterade. Snacks are a good idea to keep your energy up.

I would say no to this. The bays in the Galveston area are very dangerous and I would recommend getting a guide first.

Flounder gigging in Texas this time of year is dependent on windy weather but your guide will check conditions for you!
