What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina for the first time?

Listen to the crew and be patient. They will definitely put you in a place where you can catch fish.

Good trip for my 5year old grandson's first boat ride and fishing experience. Somewhat disappointed at the overall catch for all passengers-marketed as a shark fishing with only 2 small ones caught.

Absolutely! We three novices were made fisherman by Captsin Robert, and Joe, caught fish and had fun.

Water Temps matter a lot Just because a certain species has been hitting is no guarantee that the day you go that's what will be caught. Every day is its own adventure.

Bring sunscreen! Sunglasses and hats and water. SC is a tropical climate, and if you aren't used to it, the sun and heat could sneak up on you. Plan ahead to enjoy your day.

Take motion sickness medicine, drink lots of water and apply sunscreen and wear a hat with a fishing shirt if possible!

We actually met the captain elsewhere to allow more time fishing and less time trying to beat the tides.

August is a tough month for inshore fishing. The heat and sun can be brutal. The bite can be tough. I prefer to go offshore. FWIW, this trip should be called Georgetown fishing.

Bring a cooler with drinks and snacks. There's no bathroom on the boat so a shorter trip would be better for people with smaller kids.

Just come with a positive attitude and listen to the guidance from the crew. They will put fish in the boat

Book with a guide, even if it is just to learn how to navigate the inlets and find fish. Their input is well worth the $.

It is fishing not catching. The tides and temperature really effect how the fish bite. Don't expect every cast to land a record fish.

For the shark trip. Expect smaller fish. Only about 40 ft. I am told the full day trip would be better for trying to get deeper and catch bigger fish.

To be fair there were storms south of where we were that made the seas a little rough. So can't give an accurate evaluation.

It started getting hot later in the morning. I am sure that fall or spring fishing would yield more fish

The weather is what it is at any time of year, but a bad day fishing is still better than a good day at work!

I would recommend an early or late fish. Mid day fishing hasn’t been as productive as the early ones we’ve taken. We booked mid day due to availability.

There were some bites. Got one small flounder. Other than bait getting taken or snagged we didn’t have much luck.

Take the chance to go further out even in not so calm waters, the fish don’t mind the waves. But when they are there, they are biting.

Seas were rough when we booked. Ended up fishing inshore. Double check with your charter if it’s safe to go offshore when prior to departure

Tell Captain Dave exactly what your goals are. My goals were for my 7&6 year old to catch fish, and for me to catch a keeper. Captain Dave enabled both goals.

Highly recommend this trip and company and especially Robert! This was our first charter and it was perfect just for a fun day with great memories.

Great places to fish and the view is amazing. Wish we had more time to fish other areas around Murrells Inlet. Will definitely do this again.

Go out in the mornings. Temps are extremely hot in the afternoon with little or no breeze after 11.

Definitely check this charter out. Capt. Robert made our fishing experience incredible. Great guy as well as very knowledgeable about the area and the fish you intend to see and catch.

I would highly recommend that they book a charter on fishfinder 1 with Captain Robert and follow his lead. He found fish when it was very difficult for others

Our captain nick and Jaylen was excellent. They explained everything as needed. Helped the entire time and even made jokes. Definitely would recommend them to anyone!!
