This trip was for my husband, who is not a huge fan of the beach and has never been deep-sea/inshore/ocean fishing, and only occasionally picks up a rod here in the mountains where we are from, but after this fishing trip he was so stoked.  Ethan and his Dad, who was the first mate, were so nice and accommodating to us landlubbers, who had really never fished before.  My husband was so excited, he’s still talking about it and telling people a week later about his experience.  Ethan found the fish quick and kept us on them the entire morning.  My husband and I caught blues within 5 minutes of stopping the boat, and then we were on amberjack and sea bass, and my husband even got to fight and pull in a barracuda and a shark.  It was a great trip and both Ethan and his Dad were knowledgeable and friendly.  We would highly recommend taking a trip with them- you will have such a good time!  Thanks again Ethan and let your Dad know we said thanks to him too!  Good luck with your PhD!

What a ride! I have to admit the weather didn’t really cooperate with our trip plans, but Captain Ethan didn’t mind too much, neither did we. He answered all my questions I had before the trip. I had just about as much fun running from storms as I did fishing. What an experience! For some reason he kept apologizing saying he usually brings in more fish but, we just had to keep running from the storms. However, I am beyond satisfied with the amount we caught. We had loads of fun fighting dolphin and trigger fish, sometimes multiple “fish on!” at one time! Stand up guy that really knows his fish, when and how to catch them. Will definitely book with him again.

Our group of 8 booked two consecutive half day charters with Captain Ethan.  We had a great time and had lots of fun.  Ethan is great as a charter captain.  I’ve probably taken a dozen or so different charters over the years with varying success.  It’s not always about the amount of fish you catch, it’s about how hard a captain works to put you on fish and his knowledge of the waters.  Ethan knows the waters extremely well and he worked his butt off on the boat for us, which I greatly appreciate. 

All told our two half day charters caught 30, mostly Spanish mackerel, a stingray (that was a lot of fun to fight, but disappointing to see when the big boy finally surfaced) and another nice fighter that we never saw (he went under the boat and wrapped the line around the propeller and was gone).  This was on a day that we had to call the local fish cleaner to come to the dock to clean our fish because everyone was “struggling”. 

I highly recommend Captain Ethan.  He’s one of the best captains I’ve ever had.

Captain Ethan and his vessel, “Sea’s the Day”, were nothing short of perfect. He managed to get us on fish within the first hour and had us hooking up for hours. We had multiple double hook ups and that was awesome. It began to get a little too choppy for one of our members, so he took us to smoother water and switched fishing methods to casting with live bait and hooked up with a skate that gave us a nice 15 minute battle. We came home with 24 Spanish mackeral and 4 blue fish. He recommended a cooking method we used and the fish were delicious. Ethan was very professional and personable. All in all, he is an excellent captain and it was worth every penny! TIGHT LINES!!!!

We had a great time with Captain Ethan today. The bite wasn’t great but he kept on trying different locations and techniques until we finally found our sweet spot. Him and his first mate were very helpful with our young children, and I am always grateful for people like them. We were able to bring home some good fish and some good memories. I know that my middle daughter has now found a new love for fishing because of this trip. Thanks a million!!
