If you expect to do sport fishing, deep sea fishing, book a 35-38 foot boat at a minimum. Boats that size and larger usually have restrooms and cabins and that can help make the experience much nicer for your first time out. Take tons of photos and videos. Get yourself ready for memories of a lifetime.

Bottom fishing with a knowledgeable Captain turned out excellent. Plenty of action. Skipped trolling to get right on the fish. The type of bait matters -- squid stays on the hook better than cut bait. Use light tackle for a lot of action, but risk losing sharks, large grouper, barracuda, etc. Conditions were very windy (October 2018). We managed with my 82 y.o. father, though. Great trip overall.

Its not nessisary to spend lots of cash to catch tons of unique ocean fish that are tasty ! We negotiated a different short charter for $200 by the straw market, because we were not satisfied with the 1st , bottom fished and caught a lot of fish. Plus I landed a 4 and a half foot shark ! Thanks capt. Marine Ramotar at Super Adventures

Do the early morning half day not the afternoon. And if u intend to throw back your catch make sure the crew does that. They didn't for us and my son was very upset to see the fish die in the buckets when they were told when we got on the boat that we wanted them thrown back. VERY disappointed!!

This was first time fishing in Nassau. I'm sure there is great fishing in the Bahamas. Wasn't meant to be the day we fished.

The water gets deep closer to shore than you think. It is a short trip to deep water, a 4 hour trip is efficient. Reel that fish in quick, sharks will snag your fish before you know it.

Salt water fishing is like all fishing and is not guaranteed. In the 4 hours we were out we landed around 20 good sized fish on what the captain called a slow day.

Fished Nassau in February many times, some years were great offshore others not do much, inshore bottom fishing is more of a sure thing IMO at that time of the year

Spend a little extra and go for a bigger boat. We had a 55 foot boat for 6 of us and I'm glad we went bigger instead of less expensive

Go for bottom fishing in the afternoon to get started (grouper, grunt, trigger fish). Shoot for tuna later in the evening when the water cools off and the birds are active.

Try the deep sea fishing for half the trip and if not catching anything try the bottom fishing. You need to have patience and relax and enjoy the experience. When you do catch something it is great.
