What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Tamarindo, Guanacaste for the first time?

My brother in law had never fished before and felt safe and was taken care of by the captain and crew. My two boys and I had the trip of a lifetime.

Pick Sea Breeze. Super efficient and productive. We walked from our hotel to the beach where they picked us up. No hassles. All planned out and executed at the highest level. A+

We only caught 2 Mahi on our 4 hour trip. The captain and crew were fantastic and it wasn’t their fault.

Be ready for a great experience! Just being out on the ocean was a great experience and the fishing is very enjoyable. Recognize there may be significant periods of waiting for the fish to bite.

Offshore bite can vary quite a bit, but your odds of landing multiple billfish in a single day are high.

Don't drink too much alcohol before fishing like one of our guys did. Drink water and go to bed early after a good healthy meal and you'll do fine!

We were told this March was very unusual with the rain they were getting but it helped that was not so windy. Looks for a good weather and a company with positive reviews

any day on the water is a good day there may be better times of the year in the area but thats when we were there

Crew provided enough food and drinks for everyone. It is very hot in March recommend lots of Sun protection. Long sleeves shirts and head wear also lots of sunscreen lotion.

Carefully select the boat and captain. Most of te boats at Tamarindo do not have a toilet, an AC cabin

We chartered a different boat the following day and had a great day fishing. 2 sailfish, 2 striped marlin & 4 yellow fin on December 16.

Consider the 3/4 day trip. If we only fished 1/2 day we would not have caught fish.

Yes, you never know if fish are biting but captain Daniel gives you a great shot

Apparently the 1pm half day trip is not good for fishing. So go early and go longer.

Definitely try it, but understand that jigging takes energy at the depths you may be fishing at.

Perfect weather! Rained towards the ends but didn’t have an effect on our experience.
