What would you recommend to anglers fishing in San Juan for the first time?

Great weather and easy water - a little chop when the lines went in and we slowed down, but not bad. If you’re worried about motion sickness, grab a Dramamine and you’ll be fine.

Be ready for anything. Fish, weather, rain, hot, cold. We had a great day, but day before and after were sketchy.

Typical, Sunscreen, hat, bug spray, they weren’t terrible just a little annoying at the end of the trip. Be ready for a great experience.

I would always recommend fishing with Ray. He worked so hard trying to get us some fish. The weather was not agreeing with us.

If you are wanting big fish go deep sea. If you are wanting something a bit smaller easier to catch consider incoast fishing.

It’s not prime season for game fish but our crew was vigilant and we spotted some Mahi Mahi. We reeled in two!

Find a reputable charter that will go the extra mile to ensure your expirence is worthwhile. This was a waste of time and money.

Bring a hat and a lot of sunscreen it is really hot other than that it is really nice and the fish bite also message your captain about the tide before you go to make sure you get the best bite!

We normally don’t expect much when it’s mid afternoon, but Capt Luis took us to a place where they were definitely biting. Great experience.

Don't go here. Go someplace where the reviews say how happy the captain is and how great they are to talk to and how many fish they caught!

Set low expectations and be positive and you’ll have a good time and might even get lucky and enjoy your catch much more and enjoy fishing and accept failure is inevitable persistence is key!

You obviously can’t predict the weather, but 10’rs aren’t that user friendly and we still caught fish

Tarpon fishing is fun and challenging. Listen to your guide and follow his recommendations so that you are ready when you land on one.

The weather changes frequently, so be prepared for cancellations due to weather! Especially if you’ve planned fishing on a vacation.

I would not - beginner fishers would expect to nail fish every second. If experienced and have patience this would be a good trip. Caring captain & exciting fighting.

We were first time fishers. Captain Louis is a very good teacher, explained exactly wat to do when a fish bites. We got 3 out of 3 catches

Go with Luis let him show you all fishing in Puerto Rico has to offer. He’s the only guy we will use from now on!!

We fished in the afternoon. Sunscreen was needed, but not bug spray. Fish were biting. It was great.

Practice casting a 10 weight fly rod with a bigger fly. Need to cast app 40 ft for best results. This is if you want to fly fish only.

They’re always biting if you’re fishing for the right species at the right time and right place.
