Rough water with 7' - 10' rollers as the norm. Also....it's called fishing....not catching. We caught fish, I would bet catching odds are higher with Captain Jose than most captains. Out of 3 boats out we were the only boat to catch! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Bring sunscreen, fishing/sun shirts, hats and good polarized glasses. If you are not a seasoned or experienced offshore fisher don’t be afraid to take some Dramamine the night before your trip. The seas will get bumpy even on the calmest day. Oh, and be ready to reel hard, fast and often!

If you are looking for a Captain who's passion is putting his customers on fish than Captain Carlos is your man. My experience with Carlos was the high point of my trip to this beautiful paradise. I look forward to returning next year to put in some more time in fishing these productive waters. Fish on Captain, Fish on. Peace

Tracy Willden
Make sure you wear plenty of sunblock and drink a ton of water. I applied sunblock three times and still got burnt.

Nathaniel Moore
There were tarpon everywhere, just couldn’t get them hooked. Would do it again with a longer tour.

Richard Finnerty
We crushed tarpon all morning. It’s a fun fish to fight and catch. Listen to Luis, he knows the technique to boat the fish!

Scott Miller
Have appropriate expectations going in. There are never guarantees catching fish so enjoy the experience. If you catch fish then all the better!!

Geoff Hulsey
Make sure your arms are ready for a workout. Seriously, though, everything was very professional and fun.

Nelson Torres
The waters in the lagoon are warm. It’s a little more challenging to fish during the day. Best in the morning.

Spencer Starks
Definitely read up on controlling motion sickness and how to take the medicine before you go

Brian Nye
Inshore fishing is good even with high winds. The wind is often 20 miles per hour, making for a rough trip if you choose reef fishing or off shore fishing.

Patricia Krzynowek
Let the captain know if you want to take some fish home or fish for fun. This depends on where you go out.

Johnathan Mitchell
Waste of money, basically enjoyed a boat ride. Captain didn’t tell us was off season until paid money and got on water.

Ricardo Mora
Alex had said we would move around if we weren’t having luck. I guess we didn’t because we kept getting strikes, but as a first timer, maybe ask to do that?

Jay Goold
Be prepared for rough sea conditions, the winds were only 11-15 mph in the forecast and I got actively sea sick in the waves. Use medication to combat the symptoms.

Brent Wibberley
Kids who are getting into flyfishing would learn a lot, but probably not recommended for first timers until they’ve learnt the basics and can cast reasonably well

Alexander Usman
March is a great time for tarpon. Captain is knowledgable and smart to accommodate any were from a first time fisher lady to a pro angler.

John Otero
Be prepared with sunscreen or beverages/snacks as 4 hours at see can be a drag without any action. It’s called fishing not catching so keep that in mind.

Michael Goodman
Tarpon are hard to land! Even for a very seasoned largemouth bass fisherman. The lagoon was a great location and very predictable, calm, water conditions

Kevin McGreevy
Tarpon are hit or miss. When you do find them put up a good fight.
Bring sunblock, a hat, and sunglasses. Captain was great. Very friendly and knowledgeable.

Jason Empson
Weather was perfect, no coats needed.. sun was intense when it came thru the clouds so be prepared for that with appropriate gear (sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, appropriate clothing)

Mario Giudici
Be flexible. I was booked for a day trip but changed to evening trip because of the captains recommendation

Just update the description, they say they offer snacks but they do not. If you did not eat breakfast expecting there to be food on board provided then you will be starving by the end of the trip

Andrew Landis
Be flexible and listen to your guide when they try to put you on fish. Sounds like February, especially with any kind of cold front can be tough.

Gene Russell
Wonderful time of year to spend on the water fishing . I highly recommend fishing in San Juan in January

Debra Mcpheters
4hrs trip is enough time. Many go out in the morning but the afternoon time is an ok time too. Don’t worry about the rain, it comes and goes.

David Robinson
Boat captains do everything they can to ensure you have the best day on the water. Sometimes the fish cooperate and sometimes they do not. San Juan is no different.

Peter Strenkowski
The backwoods and bay fishing seemed to be more popular this time of year, I would try one of those. We learned that northern winds make for pretty rough seas this time of year.

David Dalke
This charter. Do the 6 hour tour to have more opportunity to land fish. Listen to your guide. Have fun! Be thankful.

Thomas McClurg
Book Reel Addiction PR with Captain Santiago, you will never go wrong , knows the waters and how to coach you to land a fish like no one else in the area
