If you have not experienced a fishing charter before, book the half day option (4 hours). Many people underestimate the physical rigorousness of time on a moving boat in sometimes choppy water. An 8-hour trip is a long day on the water for most people who do not do this frequently or for a living.

i was expecting another long boat ride out, with notging but 1 or 2 fish for the day. completely opposite of that!!!! 30 min boat ride and we were carching fish the whole trip!!!! The captian was just as excited as we were every time we hooked one!!!

Skipper Evan is a good guide. He worked his butt off to put us on fish, but the weather and sea conditions did not cooperate. He made the trip comfortable for my family. Judging by his determination and drive, I would certainly hire him again.

Highly recommend this trip. Captain was knowledgeable and out to make our trip what we wanted. We caught fish and he let me run alongside a school of dolphins. We will be repeating customers. Boat was very clean ! Very satisfied with our catch and he filleted them for us and gave us great cooking tips.

We had an absolutely amazing day! Our only plan was to relax โ boating, soaking up the sunshine, taking in the beautiful views, and enjoying the tranquil breezes. But Captain Scott had even better ideas! He surprised us with a perfect lunch stop at Cabbage Key and made sure every detail was just right โ even curating the perfect music for our trip. It was our 25th anniversary, and thanks to Captain Scott, it became a truly unforgettable day.

Be sure that youโre paying attention to the tide charts when you schedule your appointment. The are normally more active with an out going tide.
You will also want to consider the bugs. They are pretty thick during the rainy season. You will want to pack bug spray with a high deet content. It would also be smart to wear long sleeves and pants if possible. A bug net is not out of the question.
If you have your own beach chair, youโre welcome to bring it although the captain does provide chairs for everyone. Fishing can be slow so itโs nice to have something to do while youโre out there.
This is a fantastic excursion that we would do again in a heartbeat.

The Snook were a little tougher to find since they were just starting to move into the coves. Perfect time for Sea Trout though, they were really high quality fish and we caught one after another, 22-23 inchers were common. Next time I may wait until the Snook season opens in March and maybe the Red Fish will be moved in a little more by that time. But, I would do this trip over again in a heartbeat, weather was perfect and we found fish everywhere the dolphins were not!

Captain Tom is by far "THE FISH WISHPER"!! We caught fish consistently the entire trip. This great experienced angler really knows where all the honey holes are! This family owned company by far made us feel safe and had tons of fun! We caught everything from grouper, to snapper to name a few. They even offered to filet the fish to take home with us. I have been on many chartered deep sea fishing trips, and this was by far the best one. I would highly recommend Blind Date Charters to anybody looking for a great day fishing!!

Watch the weather patterns and try to get a few warm days in a row to make the snook more active. Still early forTarpon and the normally reliable sea trout are still recovering from the red tide last year so maybe next year might be better it you prefer that species. We had a great time catching lady fish when the water temps dipped and put the snook off their feed. Be prepared for some wind this time of year.

The weather is constantly changing. While we didn't get rained on (heavily) there were definitely showers in the area. I would suggest bringing at least a change of clothes to have ready and waiting for you in the event you experience rain while on the water.

Get ready to catch some absolutely stud fish. Cpt. Drew works hard for you to be able to fish hard! I recommend learning how to fish with a spin cast rod so you are ready for this adventure that you are about to embark on that way you don't miss a fish of a lifetime! Good luck fishing and listen to your captain
John Mayer
Bring a camera, bring snacks, bring your drinks of your choice. And be ready to catch fish. The captain knows how to fish listen to him and you will catch fish. Lady fish bring the best fight, trout bring the best hits. Both hit light a north bound freight train.

Ft. Myers has great opportunties for fishing. The Sanibel area is absolutely beautiful. A charter will help you take the worry out of species sizes and limits. They will also get you to the best fishing locations and know which techniques work.

If you are fishing in the morning, especially in March, make sure to dress appropriately (pants, jacket, etc). We used a waterproof case for our phones so we could take videos and pics quickly and didn't have to worry about getting phone wet. And most importantly, Jack knows what he is doing so just relax and enjoy the fishing time!

Only because January can be a crap shoot : ) It was cold the day we fished so things were a bit quiet - but 2 days later is was back in the mid/high 70's and I'm sure much better for those anglers :) :)

Captain was awesome and very patient with us. I would strongly recommend them to anyone considering booking a charter.
Amanda Johnson
This was a gift for my husband who is an avid fisherman. Doesnโt sound like the boat went very far, had enough bait, or was the boat shown when booking.
Wesley Sadler
Bring light tackle, use a cast net, go find "greenies" and throw them on a circle hook by structure to find mangroves either for fun or to eat.
Joseph Zullo
Be prepared for rain and storms, stay flexible with techniques. And listen to the captains they know what they are doing
Kevin Knight
I would definitely recommend Captain Jack time of year. The fishing here is outstanding in Captain knows his stuff.
William Holshoy
Talking to locals at every opportunity, and booking a good charter will show you the best methods and locations for catching good fish!
Tabby Winters
some fish arent in season so be prepared tou will likely cath thinga you cant keep. Sometimes you may not catch a ton of a specific species but youโll probably catch something!
James Bloom
Spend your money on near shore fishing trips if you just want tight lines and ripping lips.
Kevin Larson
Be prepared for the heat. Where long sleeves and a good hat, abd bring sunscreen.
Amanda Cutter
Absolutely i would recommend Captain Scott- he was very kind , knowledgeable, and patient
Eric Cline
Wear sunscreen. Be patient its fishing not catching. I have been out on 4 trips total with different Captains. Some days we caught alot , some not so much. But I have enjoyed them all.
Michael Flaherty
If a flying fish jumped into the boat, it would have escaped before we could grab it. I think it was National No Catch Day!
Joseph Izzo
Nice little center console boat . These are spartan crafts without amenities but perfect for a 1/2 day in the back bays.
Ted Hintze
I ABSOLUTELY would recommend fishing with Blind Date Charters whether it's a first-time (like my experience) or your 10th time, you won't be disappointed.
Anne Scharmach
For someone visiting for the first time, the variety can be overwhelming, but focusing on key inshore and shore-based spots provides a great introduction to the area's rich fisheries.
