Yes, it would be a great first trip experience. conditions were right for us. I just know that any kind of fishing can change any given day. we were fortunate enough to have a great day when we went out.
Robert Feagley
I’ve fished punta cana before. Last time i booked through you guys. seas were rougher that time and We only caught a bitmore- one mahi. But there was no exhaust issue with the boat like this one so much more enjoyable.
Adam Traut
It is fishing. Just like fishing anywhere in the world, sometimes catch a ton of fish and sometimes you dont catch anything. I believe that SOMETIMES it comes down to the experience and the effort the captain and the crew put into it. But not always.
Jeffrey A Fletcher
i wouldnt recommend it to any fishing friends i have to fish in punta cana. although the company was legit and on-time along with a good captain and first mate, we didnt catch any fish for a 6 hour excursion
Karl Frigan
The captain shared that the previous few days had to be canceled due to the high waves, and despite our trip being on a calmer day, the waves are still not suitable for smaller children to tolerate easily. Lots of fish around though, and for those that can handle high seas, would still be a blast!

Know what is biting and find a captain that will put you on fish. I paid $600 and touched a rod for 9 seconds over 4 hours…1bite in four hours!!!
This was my dream trip of my life! Had wanted to catch a game fish forever. I feel like they know fish arent biting but are glad to take $600 to kill a dream but make out in their way.
Shay Macdonald
If you are looking to keep and eat the fish you catch, i would recommend bringing some freezer bags or a small cooler to transport your fillets back to where your staying.
I myself have been on a handful of guided charter trips i almost always forget my cooler.
Michael Astahoff
Ensure you know total price upfront, make sure someone on boat speaks the language you need. we were to have english speaking but that wasn’t the case. pic and information of captain was not who was there….
Chris Frazier
Dont expect to haul in fish after fish if you’re out of season. If your looking for a great time on the water out of season and want to catcha couple fish, Vitamin Sea is a great boat witha great crew.
Cole Vinyard
We had a great trip. Water was a bit rough, but that’s expected in deep water. Lot of seaweed to hold bait and big fish. Recommend a scopolamine patch so you can fully enjoy the day without concern for seasickness.
Arthur Rober
I recommend this boat and crew. We did have a Marlin strike but it didn't hook up but it wasn't for the lack of trying. The crew does everything they can to put fish on the deck. People also need to understand that it is called fishing not catching. Catching fish is not a guarantee sport.
Robert Newcomb
Yes. Just a heads up that if you have never been offshore that the waters can be choppy. My son and I have been on several offshore trips and this was not a concern for us.
Great boat, captain and crew.
Gleb Liubymenko
Don’t worry if it’s your first time out on the ocean — it’s totally safe. The waves might seem big at first, but the boat is very stable, and the captain clearly knows what he’s doing.
Just one important thing:
Take seasickness pills before the trip! Trust us — it makes a huge difference. Seasickness can really ruin the experience if you’re not prepared. You don’t want to spend 4 hours hugging the toilet while everyone else is catching fish and enjoying the ocean. ?

For Dorado July was a great time of year for fishing. Sounds like September and October for white marlin would be the preferred time frame. Just need to reach out to Captain Edgar ahead of time to know the best times for the fish you are after!
Ryan Baines
Good fishing. Lots of sargassum. But it provided cover and we caught fish because of it. Apparently it was hit or miss conditions and other boat out only caught 1-2 smaller fish. So we lucked out with young adults and 14yr old.
Luke Riske
It was an awesome day on the water! Beautiful conditions - some wind, lots of sun (low 80s), minimal rains and various wave sizes depending on how far out we went. There was a lot of seaweed that may have either helped or hindered us since the captain had to avoid large patches, but we also hooked some fish around these patches.
Roman Rodriquez
Plan for large waves, even in good weather. It is warmer on the boat than expected. Someone will get sick. Skip breakfast or eat a very small meal. It is called fishing, not catching. The captain does his best to put you on fish.

I couldn't have asked for a better experience. The captain and mate were incredibly personable and knowledgeable, making the day both enjoyable and informative. They expertly guided us to a fantastic catch, including barracuda and mahi. This fishing charter stands out as one of the best I’ve been on, and I’m already planning to return in a couple of months. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a top-notch fishing adventure!

Take Dramamine! The boat definitely rocks so better safe than sorry. They fish the top waters which was unexpected. I’m used to fishing at lower depths. Cool part is many fish will breach making for a fun experience.
Food and beverages were provided but we didn’t partake much. Wear a good hat and sunglasses as the UV rays are very strong in Punta Cana! Also wear shoes you can slip off as you get ankle deep in the water to board the “water Uber” out to the main boat.
Mark Ledden
Just trust in your captain and mate. They know what they are doing. When you go out on a charter do it for the experience not to catch. If you go with this mind set you will have a great time. If you catch it’s a bonus. Also know the crew wants to catch fish more then you do so don’t put extra pressure on them, they are doing the best they can. Remember you can’t make fish bite so just enjoy the experience.

Book with Tease Me sportfishing if you want to catch a white marlin! We trolled from the time we left the dock until it was time to come in, and they crew did everything they could to put us on the fish of a lifetime.
Jeff Fox
Know what you are looking for in a charter and ask for it. We knew we wanted to go after Marlin and expected to troll for hours. If you HAVE to be guaranteed a catch, choose a nearshore trip that will go to the reefs.
Geno Pagliaro
See the boat and gear! Speak with the captain and find out what actually was caught in the last few days and by what boat. Not the whole feet of boats they have working for them. Remember you can only be one.
Aaron Harrison
Keep an eye on the weather and winds and prepare appropriately for rougher sea conditions. Even if you’ve never been seasick it never hurts to pre-medicate at least an hour beforehand if the seas are rougher. That way you don’t ruin a good trip
John Gibson
Great experience! Definitely take a Dramamine for the high seas! It is traditional trawling for sport fish. If you want to bottom fish, choose another package. It’s like hunting for the Big 5 in Africa, you’re not out hunting the ordinary…sport fishing only! Have FUN!

The couple that went with me I met at the resort and seem interested in going so I invited them. The couple had never been offshore fishing with that being said the crew took great care of them checking on them often. When we returned they were hooked on deep sea fishing. Thanks to the captain and crew wether it's your first time or 50th you are taken care of.

Great crew and great catches, this was my first Fishing charter and there will be many more to come thanks to the great experience that I had. We caught 2 barracudas, and 1 Mahi Mahi. The crew also can prepare it for you, and it tastes amazing
James Lynch
I found charts online that made it seem like August would not be as good a month as May/October. The experience of the crew matters most and ours put us on the fish. We had three on at the same time. I would go any time of year with this group.

Don’t eat a resort buffets before going out on the water. It screws your stomach up. I’ve never gotten seasick in my life, but I ate the buffet about an hour before getting on the water and totally regretted it!!! It wasn’t seasick but nauseous from the food
Graham Cameron
I was going all out for the Marlin. But weather was great and lots of fish about. Captain and crew of the Cana were great and did everything they could to get me my Marlin. Next time. Recommend this to anyone who wants some action and a great day out.
