Have the waters all to yourself! Enjoy some catch-and-release action for Sailfish and Roosterfish. Catch Tuna, Snapper, Mackerel, Mahi-Mahi, and Wahoo. We can prepare sashimi or ceviche right on board to enjoy immediately or filet your catch to take to a local restaurant to prepare a meal for the whole family. Sportfishing is available for up to 5 adult guests. All tours include snacks and drinks.

Shallow reefs hold Cubera Snapper, Almaco Jack, Amberjack, Grouper, and Roosterfish. Around rocky points and pinnacles, you can also meet Sierra Mackerel and Barracuda. Farther out, drifting bluewater can produce Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo, and Mahi Mahi.
Most trips focus on freediving with a mask, fins, and a speargun. You glide over reef or lie in wait, then take a close, careful shot. Guides often set up bluewater drifts when pelagics are near the coast.
Charters welcome beginners, families, and seasoned divers. Crews give a safety briefing, choose spots to match skills, and keep a close watch. Many provide gear, but bring your own mask if you prefer, plus sun protection, water, and a light wetsuit if you chill easily.
Costa Rica’s Pacific side offers the widest range. Guanacaste and the Gulf of Papagayo have lava reefs and bait-rich points. The Nicoya Peninsula and Central Pacific around Jacó and Quepos add islands and drop-offs. Farther south, the Osa Peninsula and Golfo Dulce mix sheltered bays with fast access to bluewater.
Before you go, check local fishing license and permit needs. Confirm open areas, seasons, and harvest rules, including protected species and marine parks. Your captain will help you follow the law and practice selective, responsible harvest.
Temperatures can hit 90 during the middle of the day, and heavy rains can kill the offshore bite. Fish inshore for Jacks, Roosterfish, and Snook instead, or hit the reefs for Snapper and Grouper.
