Situated on a narrow piece of land between Puget Sound and Lake Washington, the Emerald City features amazing fishing on either side. The waters around it are famously calm, as the sound is sheltered from ocean swells. The Salmon season can start as early as January, as long as regulations allow. During winter months, you’ll get to fish for juvenile Chinook, also called Blackmouth. Rules & Regulations
In Washington, anglers aged 15 or older are required to get a fishing license. If you’re fishing in Puget Sound, you’re going to need to get a saltwater permit. Otherwise, you’ll need a freshwater license before you can fish any of the local rivers or lakes.
