Yes, Captain Trey Hudson was very professional and friendly. Trey is very skilled for his age and experience level. Trey was very helpful and patient. I realize that he is relatively new to the guide service. Hopefully in the near future he will be able to upgrade and improve his fishing craft. The flat bottom front (bow) and the main floor of the vessel does not take the moderate waves experienced in the bay area we fished. The bumpy ride is though on us old guys as we crossed the open water section of the trip. His boat is designed like an air boat for less drag across very shallow water. Peter J. Czerwinski

We went out on a day a Norther hit the area and apparently, that upsets the fish. We didn't catch but 4, really nice sized, Redfish but had a great day. Should just try to go when its not so dang cold!

Do your research, fishing can be tough at times and weather plays a big role in catching. Don't be afraid to ask around and see what the fish are biting on, it varies greatly at times and choice of bait can make all the difference in the world.

There are not too many places to stay in Rockport right now so plan to stay a distance away and drive early in the morning to get to your Captain's boat. We stayed in Corpus about an hour away and it was a smooth trip.

I caught small Redfish, Black Drum, Catfish, Speckled Trout, Croker, Sand Trout and even a Ray. Most of the fish were below legal limits but on the last day I caught a 17 inch Drum and a 21 inch drum. These were all caught from the dock at Salt lake. The day I fished with Capt'n Casey we limited out on White Bass on the river. Had a great time.

Always be checking the weather report. The wind is the most important part that will play into how successful your day will be.

Perfect weather and great fishing for Reds, a little slow for trout. Pick a guide the will target Redfish and you'll be happy with the results.

Bring sun protection... Garrett has al the equipment you will need to fish from the boat. If you want to wade fish, you'll need to bring your own gear.

Hire a guide. It's a complex system and unless you know it well it's almost impossible to know where the fish are and can actually be dangerous because of all the hard to see reefs.
