What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur for the first time?

Keep very positive energy and low expectations. You’ll enjoy it more and be much more grateful that way.

Try to talk with your captain about your expectations or what you want to go after. Your first choice might not always be the hot bite.

Make a plan for fish cleaning, packaging, and shipping before boarding if you want to keep some to eat.

Listen and let Capt. and Crew do what they do They spend a lot of hours out there bc they love to catch fish

They asked what we wanted to catch and then targeted that!! They were great from the time we go on the boat and the whole trip!! Would highly recommend them and will fish with them again!!???

Great for Mahi Mahi and Marlin not far off the beach. Good for those who might get sea sick. You can catch some good fish close to shore and don't need to go miles and miles out.

I would just say book with Blck Marlin. They are the best! Be patient, respect the waters, and enjoy!

Remember to be patient Fishing is up and down but Cabo by far is one of the best places to fish and especially with this company.

Be prepared, if you get the opportunity to reel in a Marlin, and you will on The Black Marlin, it takes a while.

If you’re trying to catch Marlin go out on a full day charter in order to be able to travel further out for a better chance at a big catch

Be aware that parking can be challenging! If you can get a shuttle or ride-share, I would recommend it.

Not too bad if you are looking for mahi mahi and rooster Size can be matter but still You will catch them

El Patho is a really lucky boat with many years in cabo!! Kiss a coin and throw it in the water as soon and the lines are out! Pay for the fish and they will come!!

If you want to catch Marlin, recommend whole day booking in November so that you go further out to reach the Marlin

The Mahi are here crazy thick this time of the year! If you want marlin you have to go 25+ miles off shore and we were catching Mahi 10 minutes from the Mariana

We only caught one fish. I don’t think we went far enough out to catch more. Other boats seemed to be capable of reaching further destinations and coming back with a lot of fish.

Be sure to communicate with your captain exactly what you want to get out of your trip for the day.

Try a few different boats and Captains. This trip was an example of problems when FishingBooker lists a Captain that is just a middleman.

Yes, this is a great trip for first time angler or more experienced folks. We targeted Dorado rather than marlin, but the boat is well set up for catching larger game fish.

Bring an extra hat or sunscreen lol wind took my to davie jones locker quick everything was good boat ran good they have a cooler bring ice or buy it at the docks for a bit more

Take a face gator, Sun glasses, and lather up with sun screen. Not too hot in October but sun will eat you up. Be ready to take home fish.

Get to know your fish before you go, speak up and ask questions before booking so you know what you are getting.

All we caught were Mahi Mahi. I researched a lot and had WAY more expectations for the captain to target more species.

Fishing Cabo in September is one of the best times of the year according to the captain that took me out.
