It was first time when I went fishing from Haleiwa.Previous three was from Honolulu….If I will go fishing again in Oahu I will choose 100% Haleiwa

Weather this time of year is wonderful, but seas off the north shore are pretty rough. We have caught fish here a few years running and love it, but be ready for some decent swells.

Pack lots of sunscreen and you might wanna add a little Dramamine into your diet so that you don’t get seasick.

Captain Matt from the VIP 5 star tours is amazing! He's very professional, very friendly, and gave my group the best experience we could have asked for! ?

Bill Smith
Watch the winds and weather closely. Had a great crew and boat, but chose to cut it a little short due to rough seas.

Greg Reger
Expect a great fishing experience. Depending on the time of year the catching can be so so. That said, in 5 trips out of Haleiwa I have never been skunked.

Jimmie Freeman
Don't expect to catch anything. This was my first charter in Hawaii and the first time not catching anything. I have fished in California and Mexico and always caught something.

Avi Kay
Be prepared for rough conditions in winter. Waterproof gear is essential unless you don't mind getting soaked to the bone.

David Poteet
Considering that this time of year isn't a prime fishing season, we still got into some fast and furious action. Overall I was satisfied with the trip.

Kyle Probst
In November maybe be prepared to bring a rain jacket. Weather was hit and miss in days leading up but water was pretty calm once we got to open water.

Steven Sunthonlap
Trust your Captains as they are the more experienced ones when it comes to fishing in these waters and you’ll also catch fish!

Brandon Ries
Don’t go with expectations of catching the 1000lb trophy fish. Got have a good time with great views and a great crew

It's fishing, not catching. Don't have expectations, just enjoy the experience. It's a magical place and you will have memories for a lifetime.

Fishing was tough this day but that.can happen any place at any time. Still had a blast being on the water.

Sandy Henley
Honolulu, Hawaii
Even with pictures and GPS it took us a while to find the pier, so don't get frustrated. The water was very choppy on the way out, so take your Dramamine before you go if you get motion sick

Melanie Amatulli
Honolulu, Hawaii
Just be aware, it’s not just a boat - the waves up north can be rough so consider gering sea sick.

Richard Deegan
The charter was top notch. It’s too bad the fish weren’t biting. They want it as bad as us or more.

John Cuneo
Seattle, Washington
Fishing is an experience, and not all about the catch. Bring a chill attitude, relax, soak in the environment and if the fish are willing, you'll bring them in.

Jeremiah Williams
Round Rock, TX
These waters are not a "first timer" fishing - the waters can be rough. Be ready w/ a scopolamine patch!

Aaron Ketza
Be flexible and dynamic when targeting specific species because it's constantly changing here.

John Tracy
Yes Captain Matt helped you with anything we needed. You'll be a better fisherman after your trip!

Jason Soares
Schedule your trip around the weather. Windy high surf days are not good fishing days

James Biondo
Get ready for a fight, these fish aren’t like any you’ll catch anywhere else in the world.

David Carrasco
A must take fishing trip when visiting Haleiwa. World class fishing experience!

Chris Brough
If you are going to fish on Oahu, you have to go with Hopper and Jay on the Grand Slam.

Daniel Giencke
A little chop on the water but the whales in season off the coast more than make up for that.

Jeffrey Bowles
Get ready for a fast paced environment (when fish are biting - it’s exhilarating)

Eric Schmalz
Come ready to catch fish!! Big water prepare if you are susceptible to motion sickness

Trisha Fellows
Understand that North Shore Oahu going into the winter can be on the rougher side

Becca Akbari
Wixon Valley, TX
You will have a blast with these guys! Be ready to catch some fish and make some amazing memories!
