What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Gulf Shores, Alabama for the first time?

Bring water and snacks and get ready for a great time on the water. And plz show ur appreciation at the end of any trip you decide to take. They are professionals

Shorter trips; inshore, with reasonable expectations. Use a captain who is experienced with novice fishermen and is willing to teach.

Properly prepare for the intense sun. It can slip up on you in a hurry. Take some light snacks and drinks to enjoy while you are surrounded by the amazing Gulf of Mexico and Mobile Bay.

Ricochet Charters Ft. Morgan. Highly recommend. Caught lots of fish and the captain (Ricochet J) and his hand (J-Mo) were awesome.

The water is too warm for inshore fishing. I am sure the bigger boats can get out further and fish the deeper cooler water.

It's about $700 after tip for 3.5 hrs plus 30 minutes to get fish cleaned. So not the cheapest for inshore

Bring lots of water, wear long sleeves, bucket hats, Captain Brad and Tim, bring an extra cooler for fish, and if you want your fresh fish cooked to perfection go to Mikees Seafood in Gulf Shores.

Be prepared for the heat and the sudden rain showers. Depending on where you stay and where you meet the charter the dri b e can be pretty long.

Mackerel were biting well. The schools of redfish were little more difficult to find at this time of year. Still worth the expense for the experience.

I think fishing in the gulf shores would be a great experience. I would not recommend captain ronnie

You never know what the weather will be sometime trips get canceled or postponed don't take it out on the captian and charters they are doing it for your protection

If you want a memorable trip with friends and family, head out of gulf shores and go get those spanish, king, bluefish, snapper. Wide vsriety snd the bite is on!

2 hour trip is great for kids. Bring a cooler with plenty of water. Bring a small cooler to pack your cleaned fish in. They take care of everything else.

Need to make sure your well hydrated, its hot and humid. Definitely go in the morning, the sun rise is beautiful.

Do your homework on the kind of fishing you want to do. There are lots of different types of trips to choose from.

Surf fishing has been great, sand fleas have been the ticket! Bought a cheap rod and reel just for the trip, works great!

If you fish the shore line, keep moving along the beach. In a boat keep hopping spot to spot until you find fish, you will not be disappointed

Captain Rick is your man. Knows what he is talking about, and for people who fish freshwater and trying salt water for the first time this is your guy.

Definitely use a charter boat if you want to catch fish fast and a plenty. Stressed Out Charters 2 was reasonably priced and had a great team.

Captain Patrick was a class act. We had a great time. I would recommend Trick’em Charters to anyone.

Look up freebird charters with captain John and Jerry. They will take care of you and put you on fish.

April is absolutely as early as I would go. May through the rest of summer is what I’ve been told is true peak season

Take a 4 hour trip with Perry and Honor. Great value and they educate you on local fishing best practices

Wait until May. My husband wanted to catch Amberjack, but you can't keep until May, but even if you can't keep the fish uts a great experience. There are smaller fish in season in April.

The weather is great for bottom fishing before it gets too hot. Not too many species that you can keep this time of the year.

Try a party barge first or boat. It’s simple. The smaller boats with less people are great fun.

I would recommend good weather and a way to make the fish bite! Just be prepared for a good time and hope for the best.

We knew going in, that we probably my wouldn’t catch many fish this time of year. But we did catch some Sheepshead!
