What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Gulf Shores, Alabama for the first time?

Sheepshead were spawning and in abundant supply. Reds were also uncharacteristically schooled up and easy to catch. Plenty of action.

Check the dates carefully, because it sounds like several different species spawn in a short period in spring. Really good options to catch a few different types of fish.

Definitely try a private charter if you can! Much better than party boat fishing.

Early summer, this year was record warm water in August and it slows down the bite.

July is a hot, fall or spring would be more weather comfortable but it's still worth the trip.

A 4 hour fishing excursion was perfect for our family of 5 for our first time out doing this.

Go in the early morning if possible. The mackarel were biting like crazy up until about 9am.

Be flexible! Weather can be unpredictable so dress according to weather. Good fishing no matter.

Only downside was the weather. Cold front came through and it was quite windy.
