What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Fort Lauderdale, Florida for the first time?

Great first time fishing in Ft Lauderdale. Weather and waves were perfect. Caught more this trip than any charter I have ever taken

My only problem fishing in fort Lauderdale this may was the sea grass was so abundant out in the ocean other than that had a great time

Make sure your prepared for weather. It can come up on ya in a moments notice. EVEN if the sun is shining when ya wake up!! Best advice I have!!

Hire a captain. And then let him do his job. Wally and John made the trip pleasant on the very rough conditions. But you get what you get when you fish in Florida in March

If you're going with kids bring drinks and snacks. Hats, sunscreen, and a positive attitude with those around you go a long way.

Speak to your guide about how the fishing is going at that particular time of the year. Some months are better than others

Crew members said that this time is off season. If that is true, I would NOT recommend waste your money on boat fishing in February.

Excellent trip..the viewing going in and out of the harbor are unbelievable seeing the expensive yachts and mansions.

If you're not from the area, expect it to be real warm and multiple patterns happening at the same time.

Hit up Dania Pier! It only costs $3.50 for a day pass on the pier. Plenty to see and plenty to catch!

We had a great time fishing in Fort Lauderdale in May. Our Captain knew just where to go and we had the time of our lives!

Waters are a little more rough in May as opposed to the summer months but a little more choppy waters get the fish more active. Quality over quantity during the month of May.

Do not get your expectations too high until the trip is in progress because the weather can change things unexpectedly which will be no fault of anyone.

Chartering a full day to give yourself the best chance at a successful charter - fishing in late February and early March is spotty.

Forget the rough & weather sensitive ocean & go inland or inter coastal. Good fishing & no Dramamine.

Great area to fish. Good edible fish, pretty fish, big game fish all can be caught without going offshore many miles. More fishing and little drive time.

There are fish to be caught in April. I think there would be more to be caught in March but I would fish again whenever I went down there.

March isn’t the best time of year for fishing in Fort Lauderdale, but we still managed to get lucky!

Never go fishing and expect to catch alot. Sometimes you do, sometimes you dont. This time we didnt catch anything but we'd do it again because next time we might catch more than we can keep!

Check the weather prior too. Pay attention to the moon cycle. Precheck the limitations and required sizes allowable to keep.

Cannot consider Lauderdale Sportfishing Reel Legend a fishing trip. They will fish for you, terrible experience overall.

If you want to do some serious fishing then I’d recommend an all day trip and talk to the captains before hand to find out when the best time of the year is.

From my experience, it couldn’t have gone any better. All around amazing from start to finish.
