What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Galveston, Texas for the first time?

A hat, I had sunscreen on, but could not find a big brim hat for guys at the local Walmart. So bring one or buy one at one of the beach stores, your forehead will thank you.

Kind of a tough time to fish. Lots of weather pattern changes and the fishing is hit or miss. You will still catch fish. Just not as many or the sizes you are wanting. But still recommended.

Bring sunscreen, wear a good fishing hat and long sleeve fishing shirt. The sun can be pretty hot even though the weather is great.

Fishing is good, there are probably months where the climate experience is better, July is sweltering humid and hot! Use 100spf, and also reapply

I only chose good just because of how many people were booking trips it was kind of crazy to find one, but overall every time your on the water or catching something is a good time.

Listen to the captains and get any tips they may have. You will be more successful if you listen to them. Need to be patient and let the captain do his job in finding the fish.

Wear a hat, wear sunscreen, and drink lots of water. The breeze is nice, but expect it to get hot on the boat. Finally, relax and take any speedbumps with grace and you'll have a great time.

Understand the creel limits. 3 trout per person limit is pretty surprising given the 15 per person limit in Louisiana

Captain Allen has a ton of patience with young fishermen he stayed with and helped him the entire trip

I do not recommend this charter, the captain has no knowledge of fishing spots and is not friendly nor accommodating.

We had a blast on Mother’s Day. Our captain was top tier and I was very comfortable with my family with him.

I would recommend Bay and Jetty fishing and a patient and knowledgeable Captain- and a large iced cooler to keep your catch.

Shannon is a great captain. His boat is very clean and orderly. He is very professional and very friendly. I highly recommend him and plan on coming again in two months.

March is wild for the weather. Never know what it’s gonna give you. But always worth the effort to get some tight lines

We went on a beginner’s 2 hour fishing excursion with Captain Moe and had so much fun that we wish we would have booked a 4 hour trip.

Check the weather and dress appropriately. Bring snacks and a sandwich as you’ll get hungry out there.

Having a good guide is always worth it even if you are an experienced angular. We learned some and caught some.

Don't go out in the cold season, but other than that, it's a fishing trip, you can't go wrong when you've got a pole in your hand on a boat in the ocean!

Watch the weather forecast. Last year(2023) during the same week it was in the 50’s and windy, this year it was in the high 70’s.

Do as much as you can to learn about what fish are being caught presently, and what type of fish you might catch on the boat trip you choose…

Long sleeve shirts,, long pants, sun hat and sunscreen. Is all you need our captain had everything else you need. Lots of places for breakfast and a great meal after your fishing trip

It was awesome. We were open and honest with our captain about what we wanted to catch, and he put us on fish and made sure that my son got to see the shark that he was hoping for.

Take Dramamine a day before and also an hour before your trip as a precaution for seasickness. Polarized sunglasses are a must. Non slip shoes, hat, and sunscreen also must haves.

Get a guided fishing tour, they are very helpful baiting the hook and helping fish with knowledge. They also help clean the fish for you.

Lots of sunscreen, and dont over do it, we had 4 on beck plus two captians. So 6 will be good, we just enjoyed the room with 4 of us.
