What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Port Aransas, Texas for the first time?

I highly recommend booking with Captain Kenny! Made it so fun and enjoyable! The morning was beautiful!

We fished before the eclipse. So it was a tough day. Would not recommend in the future. Fish before or after.

Find a different boat. Captain didn't know trout slot limits and threw two fish back that we should have kept. Didn't have enough live bait fish. Would not go out with him again.

September is a tough month for fishing. Defiantly the dog days of summer but a tough day of fishing still beats working!

Book a charter and support local fishing guides. Unless your local, this is the best way to get out on fish and not have to worry about cleaning gear or fish. Would highly recommend.

Plan on everything costing twice what you expect and taking twice as long. Get there early and plan on waiting. But its almost always worth it!

Water was extremely blue and easy to see through! So you could actually watch the fish take the bait! So awesome

Great fishing, if your going to be there for more than a day rent a golf cart to get around. Restaurants fill up fast and you will be turned away, most close at 9 pm.

The heat makes it difficult during mid day but early morning and later afternoon is pretty good fishing.

It was not as successful as desired. Would have liked to have caught more fish. Better time is probably spring and fall, but was still a fun experience.

Some of the fish there are seasonal. Do your homework be prepared for what time of year you are fishing and you will have an amazing time?

Talk to bait and tackle shops for guidance on whats in season, good fishing points, and what equipment is needed.

If you don't succeed, try try again. We moved around to find the fish, once we found them the fishing was great!

Just make sure you take sun protection and sweater or light jacket for your trip as it can be cool in the morning otherwise your Captain will take care of everything else for your fishing adventures.

Be realistic… not everyone in the trip is going to catch 5 fish each! Go with a great captain and you’ll have a good time regardless of the number of fish you catch!
