Last year about the same time and the same this year, I would say it is the best time of the year to go fishing.

Don’t get drunk the night before. Get your room prior to arriving. Plan for the ferry. Get ready to enjoy beach life.

Stay away from the party boats. Sometimes you get lumped in with people who can ruin your day. Private charters cost more, but are well worth it.

Keep an eye on the weather, it likes to change often. Also dress cool, it gets hot. And wear sunscreen.

If going offshore get rest the night before and try not to drink too much! Save it for when you get back.

Offshore not great yet, but bay action and mudflats are quite active, for redfish and black drum in particular.

It was pretty windy. Even with a fully sunny day my boys were a little chilly. Bring layers.

Wesley Masters
Spring Break/ Fall - take a blanket for the boat. It's chillier than you would expect.

Kai Kuhnen
Do not under estimate the power of the sun in December and bring your gator necks and sun screen.

Stephanie Gardner
We had to move quite a few times to find the fish but once we did everyone got a bite!

Ronald Rainosek
Contact your guide before the trip and agree on what you have in mind for the trip

Wait until a little later in the fall as fishing will be more predictable and cooler

Don’t go if a cold front comes through before you go, the fish weren’t biting
