What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur for the first time?

It is very hot in August and September so use plenty of Sun protection. Do lots of research regarding what you want to catch before hand and tip the crew when done.

August is hot, and the Mahi Mahi are just coming in, but this crew was fun and we had a blast. I think we caught more fish than most other boats too.

It was a slower day for us, but we did hook a nice yellowfin tuna and had another big one on the line that got away. Even when the fishing is slow, the experience is still worth it.

Find a captain that will help, teach, a beginner what to do not just give them a rod and real and say have fun. It's more about the captain and crew that the boat

Regardless of when you go to Cabo, book a fishing charter. Even in a slow month (July) the experience was fantastic. And so easy!

Take lots of sunscreen and your own snacks you might prefer something more ice on the boat and be patient because you never know when that big fish is going to strike

Yes, but the waters were very choppy and the adults got seasick. I'd make sure people know to take sickness medicine.

You definitely want experienced fishermen with you. The fish were hiding but our fishermen knew how to find them and hook them.

Sunscreen, drinks, and ready for a good time. The boys will get you the best experience they can try.

Mid July was very hot and pretty rough seasseas on this trip.Take your Dramamine & bring extra sunscreen & water. Also don't skip arm day because the Marlin will wear you out

Seas are a little rough here in Cabo each time we fish here. We travels 33 miles out to Catch our fishes and first timers not seeing land can be a challenge

Take extra cash on the boat as you will need it for various other things during the trip. Fishing license, live bait, filleting any catch you want to take home, tips, etc.

Book your trip when you get to Cabo when you have a better understanding of the weather and water conditions

Fishing was great - but seas were really rough. Nothing we can do about that, and the 10 tuna more than made up for it.

Best fishing is September through December. We went out in July, which is hot, sometimes stormy and the fishing can be mixed.

May consider a scopolamine patch for inexperienced persons or if easily nauseated. Maybe just rough seas that day.

This is more of a beginners fishing trip. We hardly got to touch the poles. Everything was trolling.

bite was slow …. but hooked up 3 marlin … only boat to do that though. I was on a good boat but not sure its the best time for marlin in cabo

A good captain knows what is going on in there local water more than you go with what they recommend for the day.

It may look rough out, but that doesn't hurt the fishing. It you're prone to sea sickness, they have prescription items that work better than the OTC stuff.

If the operator continues to push sea sickness medicine, they're going to run the boat in a way that your group will get ill.

Be sure to check the seasons for fish in the area. Read more than just the sale ads but do some research if you are only wanting to catch a particular type of fish.
