What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Pensacola, Florida for the first time?

It’s hot and not the best time of fish, but Capt. Brian still put us on plenty of fish.

We did not catch a whole lot of fish but that does not mean it is a bad time of year

Be prepared for the weather, especially the heat, and apply sunscreen before getting on the boat.

If you love to fish it is worth every dollar because you can’t put a price on this experience!

Be ready to have a great experience and tired arms from all the fish you’re gonna be reeling in!

Don't go in the summer. Hit early to mid spring if you can. It's just too damn hot out here.

Just bring a small cooler and get ready to be put on the fish! Everything you need is provided for you. Had an amazing experience salt water fishing!!

Guides said that the fish were in spawning right now and typically are less active so we could've caught more potentially.

Definitely get a local guide. We come every year and you need their knowledge of the fish movements to have a productive trip.

We came during red snapper season. We also were able to catch and release some good sized amberjack.

It was our first time with grandkids 10-12 year olds they loved it I’m sure will be the highlight of our vacation

Just remember that red snapper or any fish that are seasonal very in different states dependent on which state your captain is out of

Absolutely. Strippin N Rippin Captains love to fish. Not a job but something they love. Recommend all levels of fishing. ?

Just show up. The captain will help you with anything. Don't let fear of not knowing what to do prevent you from an awesome experience

Layer up! The sun was warm but the wind was chilly when we were driving to our spot. Bring snacks and drinks and use the bathroom before you go! ;)

We went out on a day where the temperature dropped so we had to bundle up but got put on Spanish mackerel right away. We caught 7 species throughout the day.

Go out with Captain Garrett from Emerald “C” he made us feel right at home. This was my first time and he was very helpful.

If you think you might get sea sick, take some dramamine. The waves were a bit rough heading out, but not too bad. A couple members of our group almost got sick, but dramamine saved the day.

Fishing is great, but several species are out of season this time of year so you are limited to what you can have for dinner

wear UV protective shirt and hat or sunscreen considering you'll be on a boat in the sun for approx. 4-6 hrs.

Listen to your captain and crew and follow their tips and instructions to catch more and bigger fish.

Ask if you would be better off going on a longer trip to have the opportunity to get something other than bait fish!

Captain Bill was amazing and made sure everyone on the boat had the best time. He was patient with the teens and spent time explaining things to them. They even caught a stingray!

Definitely find a charter with the weather always changing it’s hard to surf fish unless you have a boat then just fish the docks in the bay side

Don't waste money on the crappy zoom gum stink bait. Frozen squid and shrimp for pier fishing. Avoid mid day fishing

We will definitely be recommending anyone we know, coming to Pensacola, to go to captain Alex! We had an absolute blast and will be using him again in the future!

Check what is in season before planning your trip. We was wanting big fish and they were not in season. Just something we didn’t think about looking in to.

I was hoping to hook up on some Cobia but I heard it had been a bad few years for Cobia in Pensacola. But other than that the fishing was great!
