What anglers said about fishing in Jalisco

Fishing in the bay of Banderas is usually OK. But depending on the weather, it can be hot and cold. We are here in June and we’ve had some unexpected rain which can really mess with the fishing. The captain that took us out is local to the area and he put us on the fish that he thought we would be able to catch based on the current conditions. He was absolutely correct. If you’re going to book a charter and just want to catch fish, ask the captain what he thinks we can catch that day.

Be kind to the skipper. They don't control luck. We had an unbelievable catch of skipjack, but that was largely because we voted directly into a miles long school of feeding skipjack. May seems like good fishing, but that's just my experience

Although there’s no guarantee you will catch fish, hence why it’s called fishing - not catching, but PV is as close to a guarantee as you will get. Get out on the water and have some fun!

We had a great time and caught more than 5 fish, two at the peak of their size. I was so grateful was Capt was able to release the fish and yet still get my fish mount set up for me. Super easy and professional. The water was like glass, the weather was perfect, we saw whales and dolphins that even swam right up alongside our boat. Totally blessed trip!

41 pesos per person going on the boat. Budget ~$2,000 USD for taxidermy for a Marlin. Be prepared - not every trip catches big game, there were other boats out that didn't catch anything while we caught ours.
