great weather great area but there was a lot of boats around us within a half mile radius if I take to take a guess on the distance

Chad Miller
We went the morning after a full moon, so the bite wasn't as active as it normally would be. Be mindful of tide and moon cycle.

Fish with Oscar at Osmak Fishing! You will need to decide whether you want inshore or offshore. We chose inshore for potentially more fish. Next time we will try offshore!

Mark Milovich
Be specific about what your looking to catch, and the captain will accommodate the best he can according to tide/wind etc…

Steve Hudson
If you want to experience Costa Rica offshore fishing and get great value and world class professional friendly service then charter the Flycatcher. The trip is very affordable and lots of fun!

Hunter Johnson
Yes. Charter is tailored to less-experienced anglers. If you are experienced, I do not recommend. Captain and crew tend to “fish for you” as in casting/setting the hook then giving you rod.

Paul Dredge
Great+ would be some bird action and a chance at roosters and maybe blue or rainbow runners. My fly fishing preference limited my options, and I'm happy with that.

August Hasz
We went for inshore as this was our first time taking the whole family out. Our daughter struggles with sea sickness sometimes, and I think having land in sight helped.

James Curley
You can't just go for one day or one type of fish. Talk to your captain in advance and set expectations, but be flexible.

David Koehler
The water was clear and blue and the fishing was fantastic. The locals were very friendly and welcoming.

Gregg Stastny
Beautiful country. Loved it again the 2nd time. and i will be back. everyone is very super friendly to Americans there. “PURA VIDA “

Geoffrey Puddepha
Sail fish a real experience with some exciting small yellow fish to break the calm. Also recommend mixing up with inshore fishing for Roosters.

Mark Diaz
be patient. You don’t have to charter a big boat to catch a world class fish the smaller boats with the local captain are fantastic.

JAMES SULLIVAN
Be ready to spend a lot of time on the water. It's a lot of traveling to and from the spots (~1 hour 45 minutes of travel time to the eventual location).

ALEXANDER MAIRS
LOTS of sunscreen! The weather was amazing, low winds, but the heat was extreme. Even the crew was struggling some mid day with the heat.

Kevin MacMahon
Try someone else. Check out the boat before you sign up. There were some nice boats there but I was not on one of them

Mark Aquino
This was not your typical November as there has been so much rain that the ocean was cloudy and green rather than blue

Scott Kline
I'd recommend getting a very experienced captain and crew. Its would be hard to beat the guys on the Cowboy Sportfishing boat. They are as professional as they come.

Justin Sisco
Be open minded that fish travel just like we do, and it's sometimes hard to get ahold of someone when they are traveling!

Ryan Wolfe
Do not wear flip flops and be prepared to get wet. Keep your knees and hips loose if seas are not smooth.

September, we were told, is the low season month for fishing. If that is the case, I can’t imagine high season as we had 3 blue marlin, 15 yellowfin tuna and 1 sailfish.

Maarten Dijkshoorn
Go offshore fishing. There is a great variety of fish and we did see lots of turtles, dolphins, pelicans and even a whale

Jason Schlange
Manage your expectations for the amount of fish caught in the “ offseason”. To maximize numbers fish in peak season which is anywhere from November to April. Talk to guides before you come

Ira Kostrinsky
Best month of the year to go is November, in three hour charter you can catch up to 40 Fish, I went in July and caught four yellow fin tuna and one Spanish mackerel

Casey Gregory
The fishing license seems hard to do but it’s really easy and quick at the marina. 630-730am only. No English spoken but other non Spanish speakers were able to navigate it easy peasy.

Christina Shulters
Bring a long sleeve shirt that’s not tight and maybe a light rain jacket if it’s rainy season. We wore both on the way back because it was stormy and raining.

Jason Nash
Cash is king; almost all transportation is cash only (dollars or colones). Sunscreen and proper clothing; the sun is strong and the humidity is high.

Jennifer Sigfrinius
Go offshore. We did inshore last year and only caught 3 fish all day. Offshore we caught 25+ and they were so fun to catch. Wear lots of sunscreen!

Pat Mcginley
Quepos has a very nice Marina. Plan to spend a little extra time looking at the shops and restaurants in the marina.

Alysha Carlson
I would recommend to prepare for the sun and heat!! Bring lightweight, long sleeved shirt, hat and lots of sunscreen. Also, have a plan for any fish you catch!
