What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Destin, Florida for the first time?

If you are wanting a great time, reserve your trip with a reputable captain. Do your research. Read the reviews. But remember, it's called fishing, not catching. You may score big like we did, or you may strike out. And the captain is not responsible for weather or seas. Have an open mind, be adaptable to the situation, and by all means, have fun!

Take your own rods and reels. The tackle was too heavy for the small fish we were catching so you couldn’t feel the fish. It was more like a little extra weight. You drop the bait down and then reel it up. Boring and disappointing!

If you want big game them make sure you take at least a half day trip! But if your looking for some fun catches and a great time on the water the 5 hour did just that. Read the reviews and what the trip is actually capable of and you wont be disappointed.

It was clear from beginning to end that My Chance Charters’ goal was to catch fish and help everyone have a wonderful time. Our 74 year old guest said it was by far best fishing he had ever done. We were first timers so left the trip to the expertise of our crew about where to go and what to fish for. It was a great trip and we caught a ton of fish! We wanted quantity over size and that’s what we got!

Highly recommend booking a charter in Destin on Karma with Captain Rocky. He put us on the fish all day long and has decades of experience. We were all worn out from just a 1/2 day charter!!!

Its HOT! Bring water, Gatorade, powerade, whatever, and drinknit all! Also, sea sick meds are a must!

Be ready to catch fish. Be prepared for various weather conditions. Book on length in respect to how far out you want to travel. Longer excursions = farther out = larger, less pressured fish.

Currently the gulf is darker than normal due to rain up north, so you will need to be patient, and make sure you book a good charter like this one.

Catching fish can never be guaranteed so you have to expect the minimum and hope for the maximum. Great to have a captain that transitions to different styles to adapt to what the day gives you.

Read reviews, and pick the right captain for you. I promise The right captain makes all the difference when planning a family trip that should be a great memory.

Be open minded. It is fishing some days they bite some days they don’t. Your captain can put you on them but can’t put them on your hook.

There is a lot of driving to get to the spots. The longer you book your trip the deeper you can go and get bigger fish. Still was a good balance just know you have to travel quite a but

Check for how the fish are biting beforehand if you can. Certain fish have seasons and there are times the fish aren’t as aggressive. That said we’ve not had a bad day yet

Great crew and boat. I have been charter fishing 5-6 times and this one was at the top of the list.

pack water, liquid iv, beer, beef jerky, and take your marbles out of your wife’s purse and have fun!

If you wanna go out and have a good time then book with these guys!! They knew all the spots knew what was hitting and were down to show us a good time.

Please do your homework. Ask questions, research what you are wanting to catch and what it takes to get that catch.

Had a fun time with Capt. Chris. Knowledgeable about fishing spots to go to. Was helpful with educating my granddaughter on how to saltwater fish. Would definitely book with Capt. Chris again.

Dramamine pills. Pack snacks and plenty of refreshments. Small towel for hands when fishing. Bring a buddy and have fun. Don’t forget cash for tipping crew at end of trip. Oh; have a blast.

Bring sun screen. be in shape for a lot of reeling n if they put ya on fish your arms and legs will be sore from the fight n legs from bracing on side of boat bring lots of water

Bring your Dramamine and sea feet if you are planning on hitting the Gulf with higher winds. It is not for the faint of heart.

I got lucky booking on the app. I got Get the gaff charters. Do your homework and pick a reputable captain even if you have to spend a little more it is worth it and TIP !!!!!

Don’t expect every day to be the best day. Make the best out of every day! Mother Nature doesn’t always cooperate and neither do the fish. Have fun and enjoy the experience.

Make sure to bring plenty of food and drinks. Tip your deck mates well! They do a lot of work to help you out before, during, and after your trip!

I would recommend they book a charter with 850 and Captain Phillip. We are very inexperienced and they absolutely CRUSHED it.

If you are looking to catch a particular species, Check for what is in season before booking your trip! We were one week out from being able to keep the red snapper

Make sure you are aware of what season is I'm. Captain didn't communicate that at the time of booking.

Be ready to move some due to Red Snapper not being in till about June. But the fish are there and a lot of them.
